You Can Take Him Anywhere

One reason above all others stands out as the main obstacle why some people are reluctant to pack their bags and take a vacation - the four legged family members!
Particularly in the case of dog-lovers who often seem to fret more than the family dog when separated from them for any length of time. Well I guess that's why we own them, it's a sort of mutual love pact and it applies equally to nearly all domesticated house pets.
But somehow the family dog seems to be able to sense the impending separation (or so we think) and then the tug of war with our conscience begins - shall we go or shall we not!
Many people don't give it a second thought and just call the boarding kennel and head of into the sunset and that's just fine for those who are happy doing that, but there are others who simply cannot bring themselves to take off for a month and leave the little guy behind.
But, hope is at hand.
There are basically three options open to you here. The first is to arrange for a neighbor, friend or family member who is willing to call each day to feed and care for your pets. This is a good option if taking them away from the home environment would be unsettling for them.
A boarding kennel or cattery is another option but can be expensive and the quality of care should be carefully checked before committing to this.
Consulting with your local veterinarian is advised for the best boarding options in your area.
If you are traveling within a reasonable distance from home it is worth checking out rental vacation homes, apartments, hotels and pet-friendly resorts who often welcome guests with pets.
Again the internet comes to the rescue when you are searching for these resorts around the country and there seems to be an ever increasing number of them.
If you can find suitable ones which fit into your travel plans there is no reason why you should not take your best-friend along.
There are a few precautions to take before setting out though which include ensuring that all the vaccinations are up to date and you have a suitable harness car restraint in the automobile if traveling by road.
There is some fantastic information available which will provide all the answers you could possibly need if you are considering traveling with your dog.
I know of many pet-loving travelers who have used this and have found that it over-delivers and makes the whole process fun for everyone.
